Registration Health check It is a requirement that all patients who wish to register with the Practice attend for a health check. The Health Visitors These are nurses specially trained in the health needs of the young. They are involved with our health promotion facilities. Cervical Smears We encourage all women registered with the practice between the ages of 25 and 65 years to have a smear carried out at specified intervals. A recall system is in operation. Our practice nurses carry out most smear tests. Clinics We offer "Well person" and "lifestyle checks" to people periodically who we have not seen for some time. You can also arrange an appointment yourself. The health check includes blood pressure, weight and height measurement, urine analysis and cholesterol test where appropriate. We use an initial questionnaire on healthy living which enables us to provide advice on staying well. We also provide clinics for patients with diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart disease and chronic lung disease. Patient Wise We provide patient information leaflets on the most common conditions which is located in the downstairs reception. Information relating to other illnesses/conditions can be obtained by asking at reception. |
